Ten Reasons Why I Belong in New York:

1. I like to walk. Fast.
2. I once flagged down a city bus. Translation: Just imagine my skills at snagging taxis.
3. I already live in a city with real expensive real estate, so I wouldn't have to adjust to living in a small apartment.
4. I can subside on coffee, gum, and the occasional bagel if need be.
5. I will suffer walking around in stilettos during the day.
6. City smog makes me happy.
7. I'm a big fan of expensive restaurants. And dingy little food-y places too.
8. Lots of people, being in a crowd. What better way not to feel lonely?
9. I love clothes and street style.
10. People watching is my sport.

New York is calling to you! You absolutely have to live here!

All of the above is true for me too (except for the once having flagged down a city bus. That's some serious skillz). I think my total lack of timidity would serve me well in a city - any city, really - so WHY am I still in this craphole of a town?

I've recited this exact rationale verbatim to my parents for the past six years. Are you my telepathy twin?

New York seems so wonderful. I hope you actually end up there - we could be roomies! But to be honest with you, I don't think I would adapt well to city living. I'm actually a country girl at heart.

I agree with all of the above - except i still cannot bring myself to walk around in stilettos all day. Walking 20 blocks plus a few avenues to school everyday, heels hurt unbearably. I am always jealous of the girls at my school who do wear stilettos all day and can walk fine in them.
